"Ways to Stand Out in the Vtuber Scene"
*Today's SyncuLetter includes an excerpt from
the ongoing series with permission from Kentax.
Thank you, Kentax, for providing valuable information!
Precision ensures victory!
In the current landscape where numerous Vtubers emerge each year,
how can one increase fan influx and achieve substantial growth?
That's right – it all starts with the most fundamental aspect: competitive analysis!
Let's explore how others are approaching it, and systematically understand
how to adopt our distinctive strategy.
Step by step, let's unravel the details."
Let's find someone similar to me
While there may be no identical individuals under the sky,
there are certainly many who share similarities.
The same goes for Vtubers.
Nevertheless, let's categorize and identify our unique points !
Firstly,
Begin by finding individuals engaged in similar [activities] as you.
For example, let’s categorize within stream scopes:
Gaming streams
ASMR
Idol
Designer & Vtuber
Secondly,
narrow down the scope!
For instance, within gaming streams,
specify the game genre, viewer participation style,
and whether the focus is on game analysis and strategy !
Please list how these discovered channels are similar to yours.
let’s also look for differences.
Here are some simple aspects to check:
Subscribers count of competitors
Concurrent viewers
Archive views
Comment ratio compared to concurrent viewers
Streaming style
Overall visual aesthetics
Here's a simple example table
Common Points | Interaction | Viewer Response | Stream Style | Design | Average Viewers | |
A | Focus on horror games | Only reaction | backseat | Follows viewer opinions a lot | Simple | 50 |
B | Focus on horror games | Reads comments well | backseat | Follows viewer opinions a lot | Lots of ads affecting readability | 100 |
C | Focus on game commentary | Lots of commentary | Not many | Commentary feels like live broadcasting | All content personalized, feels comfortable like TV broadcasting | 60 |
Creating my own brand
Now that the competitor analysis is complete,
it's time to develop your unique differentiation strategy!
Remember how we discussed finding your stream identity?
Combining your confident skills with trending streaming genres
can also make for a strong personal branding.
For example, if you have a good voice and enjoy eating,
combining these could lead to a great combination like ASMR mukbang.
As a designer and Vtuber skilled in Minecraft, you might consider
hosting collaborative live sessions with viewers to create Minecraft skins together.
If you're a gaming Vtuber with a strong sense of humor,
strategically choosing failed games and presenting them in an entertaining way
with a witty commentary could be a unique approach.
Take it slowly and consistently !
A differentiated personal branding strategy is something that
I believe many have already contemplated.
The idea that being different is essential to stand out, coupled with frustration when hard work doesn't yield results, can lead to a fixation on trying various new approaches.
Effectively incorporating your own personality, steadily and in a direction that brings joy to your streaming, might be more crucial than incessantly chasing after being different from others.
In the next session, we'll discuss something even more challenging
than branding: self-introduction!
I'll bring you insights on PR.
Subscribe and join me for that discussion!
